How to Install a Corner Toilet (Actionable Guide)
The installation process of a corner toilet is usually split into 5 essential steps. Let’s learn them all.
1. First of all, you have to determine the rough-in location of the toilet, based on the model configuration. You need a straightedge to draw perpendicular lines from the marks (10”, 12”, or 14”) on the wall. You need a perfect square in the end.
2. Next, you have to install the wax ring on the flange. It requires quite a lot of pressure to be fixed firmly, but not too much as the ring must remain in the initial shape.
3. Now you have to install the bolts into the mounting holes and land the toilet carefully to align the mounting holes of the toilet with the bolts. You have to press down the toilet to ensure tight contact with the wax ring. Don’t remove it after, as it will break the leakage.
4. At the next step, you have to ensure that the toilet is level and adjust the level using shim if necessary. When it’s done, you can tighten up the bolts, but do it carefully. It’s important to alternate the bolts and tighten them up gradually. Don’t put too much tension to avoid cracks in the base. Place bolt caps when this stage is done.
